Shalom and Welcome to NFTY
NFTY-NEL brings together Reform Jewish Teens from Northern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Western and Upstate New York, and the province of Ontario (except for Windsor).
Our members come together at many times during the year for learning, fun, worship, community service, and fellowship to help young Jewish adults throughout the region build and strengthen lifetime ties with each other and Reform Judaism.

Mechina, KUTZ Camp, Warwick, NY June 20-24, 2012
This North American Program is open and recommended to all Regional Executive Board members.
Regional Board Training, Mississauga, ON August 31-September 2, 2012
This event is open to all Regional Exec and Cabinet members. It is aimed at kicking the year off and training the Regional Leadership for the coming year.
Derech Atid – Hiram House Camp, Cleveland, OH September 21 – 23, 2012
This event is open to all TYG Board members and Advisors. It is aimed at building leadership skills and
developing your TYG team. * The weekend may also include a weekend long song leader workshop.
Fall Kallah – Mitzvah Corps- Temple Emanu El (FEISTEY) Thornhill, ON November 2 - 4, 2012
This event is open to all NFTY – NEL members and Advisors. It includes a hands-on social action experience.
Debates –Location TBD November 30 – December 2, 2012
This event is open to all competing NFTY – NEL members and Advisors. This event includes the Heinz Warshauer Debates, Goldman Oratorical, Terry Pollack Original Song, Melissa Goldman Art
Competitions. All topics for these competitions are determined during the general board meeting at Derech Atid.
JYG (7th and 8th Grade) Kallah – YMCA Camp Cedar Glenn, Schomberg, ON December 14 – 16, 2012
This program is open to all Grade 7 & 8 members of Reform Synagogues within the Region. It is intended to be an introductory program where participants begin building relationships outside of their own synagogues and learn about the opportunities they can look forward to in the future. In addition to a congregations Grade 7 & 8 participants each congregation is asked to bring one leadership teen (Grades 10 – 12) to help staff the program as well as an adult representative.
Winter Kallah– Temple Emanu El (TEMTY) – Cleveland, OH January 11 – 13, 2013
This event is open to all NFTY – NEL members and Advisors. The general theme for the weekend revolves around Israel or the Arts. The event will also include one of the three General Board meetings of the year.
NFTY Convention, Los Angeles February 15 – 29, 2013
Five days, 19 regions, the ultimate community! Reunite with Camp and NFTY friends, Enhance leadership skills, experience creative worship, meet new friends, Explore topics relevant to your life, Rock out at NFTY concers, Sing and Dance at amazing NFTY song sessions, Make memories that will last a lifetime!
Spring Boards - Temple Brith Kodesh (BRIKTY) – Rochester, NY March 15 – 17, 2013
This event is open to all current Regional Board members, those running for regional board position and 3 voting delegates from each TYG and Advisors. This is the final board meeting of the term and elections for the upcoming Regional Board.
Spring Kallah - L’dor Vador, - Camp Fitch, North Springfield, PA April 19 – April 21, 2013
This event is open to all NFTY – NEL members including current 8th graders and Advisors. Along with a full weekend of innovative programming the event includes an 8th grade track including an introduction to the region and its traditions, Installation of the newly elected Regional Board and a special senior farewell program.
