Temple Israel Foundation

In our hands, our future.

I believe that one of the first things that new members to our congregation are impressed by is the feeling of community at Temple Israel....a sense of belonging! An expression of Judaism that’s not judgmental but inclusive, a community that opens its arms to those in need. Many in our community have now come forth and made a financial commitment to the future of Temple Israel. Funds that are invested in perpetuity to help provide a Jewish future for our children and grand children.

The Temple Israel (Ottawa) Foundation has reached a new milestone with over 30 family endowments and a current cash value in excess of $ 200,000.00. We also are fortunate to have over $ 400,000.00 of Life Insurance Policies bequeathed to our Foundation. All funds are invested very conservatively (as per our constitution), and all interest earned from these endowments is directed back to Temple Israel to support initiatives as chosen by the donors.

If you are passionate about the initiatives taken by Temple Israel.....if you love what Temple Israel is doing for you and your family, we invite you to help us support the future of our congregation. Rabbi Garten and the Board of Temple Israel have taken many initiatives to enhance the experience for our membership. If you attend services on a regular basis or if you have children in our Religious school, you will see just some of the actions that have begun. The feedback has been most rewarding and they want to do more. But we need your help, your support and your financial contribution.

If you would like to talk to us about the many options available to you and the tax and estate planning benefits, please contact one of the Temple Israel (Ottawa) Foundation Board Members or the Temple Israel office (at 613-224-1802) today and lets build a strong Jewish future for your family and a solid financial foundation for Temple Israel....Our future is in our hands today!

The Temple Israel (Ottawa) Foundation board Members include Murray Wall (President), Hillel Taub (Treasurer), Sandy Allen, Paul Lyons, Doug Marshall, Gale Blank, Mark Holzman, Brian Gold (Advisor), Irv Singer (Advisor), Elaine Singer (Advisor), Sandra Pollock (Advisor), Michael Walsh (Advisor), and Ted Miller (Advisor).
